CRACKED SWITCH PANEL
NOTE:
This bulletin supercedes Service Bulletin # 035/92, Cat. S, issued 7/7/92.
DESCRIPTION
Some 1988-91 929 models may develop cracks in the switch panel. A reinforced switch panel is now available as a service part to correct this condition.
Please use the following repair procedure to replace the switch panel.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Remove the five (5) screws securing the steering column covers. Lock the steering wheel in the down position. Remove the upper half of steering
column cover.
2.
Remove the seven (7) screws holding the switch panel to the instrument panel. Loosen switch panel. Figure 1.
3.
Remove all electrical connectors and remove switch panel. Transfer all switches, vents and clips to the new switch panel.
4.
To install the switch panel, reconnect all electrical connectors. Push switch panel into position and install screws. Install steering column cover.
Ensure all switches function correctly.
