Alignment: Service and Repair
Front Wheel Alignment
Preliminary Checks
1.
Ensure tire pressure is as specified by manufacturer.
2.
Inspect ball joints and steering linkage for excessive looseness. Repair as required.
3.
Ensure vehicle is level and has no luggage or passenger load.
Camber
FRONT
1.
Raise and support front of vehicle, then open hood.
2.
Remove four shock absorber mounting block to fender attaching nuts.
3.
Push mounting block downward and turn it until specified angles are obtained.
4.
Install four shock absorber mounting block to fender retaining bolts, then torque to 25-33 ft. lbs.
REAR
Camber is not adjustable and is set to specifications during production. Whenever camber is moved out of specified angle, check all parts of rear
suspension and body alignment. Repair or replace defective part(s) as required.
Caster
Caster and camber are adjusted at the same time, refer to CAMBER for adjustment.
King Pin Inclination
King pin inclination is not adjustable and is set to specifications during production. Whenever king pin inclination is moved out of specified angle, check
all parts of front suspension and body alignment. Repair or replace defective part(s) as required.
Toe-In

FRONT
1.
Loosen left and right tie rod locknuts.
2.
Turn both tie rods the same amount until specified adjustment is obtained. Both tie rods have righthand threads.
3.
Torque tie rod locknut to 51-58 ft. lbs.
REAR
Turn left and right adjusting bolts, Fig. 3, the same amount to adjust toe in to specification. To decrease toe in turn right link bolt clockwise and left link
bolt counterclockwise. To increase toe in, turn right link adjusting bolt counterclockwise and left link bolt clockwise.
Vehicle Ride Height
1.
Measure distance from center of wheel to fender brim.
2.
Ensure distance measured does not vary more than .39 inch from right to left sides.
