Band Apply Servo: Adjustments
2ND Band Servo

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable, then raise and support vehicle.

2.

Remove valve body as follows:
a. Loosen oil pan attaching bolts to drain transmission fluid.
b. Remove bracket, oil pan and gasket.
c. Disconnect vacuum hose and remove vacuum diaphragm. Be careful not to leave vacuum rod in tip of vacuum diaphragm after removal.
d. Disconnect vacuum solenoid connector, then remove harness from bracket.
e. Remove valve body assembly.

Loosen locknut and torque piston stem to 109-126 inch lbs.

Loosen stem 2-1/2 turns, then torque locknut to 11-29 ft. lbs.

5.

Install valve body as follows:
a. Install valve body assembly, torque attaching bolts to 95-130 inch lbs. Carefully place the manual plate in correct position on manual

valve.

b. Connect solenoid valve connector and install harness.
c. Install vacuum diaphragm after adjusting as previously described.
d. Install oil pan with new gasket, then install bracket and bolts, torque to 52-69 inch lbs.
e. Connect vacuum diaphragm hose to vacuum diaphragm.
