Oil Pan: Service and Repair

OIL PAN REMOVAL / INSTALLATION - 2.3L 

Removal

1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist.
2. Remove the engine cooling fan.
3. Remove the oil level indicator and tube.

Note:
-

Only the LH side of the engine will be raised.

4. Remove the LH engine support insulator-to-engine bracket nuts.

5. Install the lifting eyes SST.

6. Install the 3-Bar Engine Support Kit SST and raise the LH side of the engine approximately 25 mm (1 inch).

7. Remove the drain plug and drain the engine oil. Install the drain plug when finished.

Tightening torque: 28 Nm {2.9 kgf-m, 21 ft-Ibf}

8. Detach the wiring harness retainers from the engine front cover.
9. Remove the 4 engine front cover-to-oil pan bolts.
6. Install the 3-Bar Engine Support Kit SST and raise
