front outboard passenger safety belt systems (including retractors, buckles and height adjusters) must be installed. Failure to install new safety belt
systems increases the risk of serious personal injury or death in a crash.

To reduce the risk of accidental deployment, do not use any memory saver devices. Failure to follow this instruction may result in serious personal
injury or death.
NOTE:

The air bag warning lamp illuminates when the restraints control module (RCM) fuse is removed and the ignition switch is ON. This is normal
operation and does not indicate a supplemental restraint system (SRS) fault.

The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

Repair is made by installing a new part only. If the new part does not correct the condition, install the original part and carry out the diagnostic
procedure again.
All safety belt tractors
NOTE: If the D-ring cover is damaged or does not remain attached, install a new D-ring cover.
1. Remove the D-ring cover.
2. Remove the nut and the D-ring.

Tightening Torque: 40 N.m (30 lb.ft)

3. Depower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING.
NOTE: Note safety belt routing for installation.
4. Remove the B-pillar trim panel and disconnect the belt tension sensor electrical connector. See B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL - 2 DOOR, REGULAR
CAB.

Release the wiring harness pin-type retainers.

Route out the safety belt webbing.

5. Remove the B-pillar trim panel. See B-PILLAR TRIM PANEL - 2 DOOR, REGULAR CAB.
6. Remove the bolt and safety belt retractor.

Tightening Torque: 40 N.m (30 lb-ft)
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

8. Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING.

9. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
