Rear Shock Absorber Removal/Installation
SHOCK ABSORBER
Removal and Installation
Caution:

The low pressure gas shock absorbers are charged with nitrogen gas to 930 kPa (9.48 kgf/cm2, 135 psi). Do not attempt to open,
puncture or apply heat to the shock absorber.
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist and support it on safety stands.
2. Remove the rear wheels;
3. Remove the shock absorber lower attaching nut and bolt.

To install, tighten to 80 N-m (8.2 kgf-m, 59 ft-lbf).
4. Swing the lower end free of the mounting bracket on the axle housing.
5. Remove the upper shock absorber mounting nut.

Remove the shock absorber.

To install, tighten to 63 N-m (6.4 kgf-m, 46 ft-lbf).
6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
