Fluid Filter - A/T: Service and Repair
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION OIL PAN (GASKET AND OIL STRAINER) REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
Removal
1. With the vehicle in neutral, position it on a hoist.
Note:

If equipped, the transmission servo heat shield must be unclipped from the fluid pan rail and positioned aside for fluid pan removal.
2. If equipped, loosen the nut and position the heat shield aside.
3. Drain transmission fluid.

Remove all the oil pan bolts except for two in the front. Loosen the two bolts. Pry the rear of the oil pan down and allow fluid to drain. After
fluid is drained remove the two remaining bolts.
4. Remove the oil pan.
Note:

The transmission fluid gasket is reusable. Clean and inspect for damage, if not damaged, the gasket should be reused.
5. Remove the oil pan gasket.
6. Remove the (1) bolt and the (2) oil strainer.
7. Clean and inspect the oil pan and magnet. Clean all mating surfaces.
