Camshaft Oil Seal: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Remove the drive belt.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system.
3. Remove the four A/C compressor bolts and position the A/C compressor aside.
4. Remove the A/C compressor and power steering pump mounting bracket bolts and position aside with the hoses attached.
5. Remove the water pump pulley.
6. Remove the crankshaft pulley.
7. Remove the timing belt outer cover.

Remove the timing belt outer cover bolt.
^
Release the seven cover interlocking tabs and remove the cover.
8. Remove the timing belt.
9. Remove the camshaft pulley.

Remove the camshaft pulley using Cam and Auxiliary Shaft Sprocket Tool T74P-6256-B, or equivalent.
10. Remove the camshaft oil seal.
NOTE: Remove the camshaft oil seal using the SST numbers 49 UN01 087 Seal Remover and 49 UN11 101 and 49 0223 630B Impact Slide
Hammer.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the camshaft oil seal using the Cam and Auxiliary Shaft Seal Replacer T74P-6150-A, or equivalent.
2. Reverse the removal procedure to install the components.

Tighten the timing belt outer cover to 8-12 Nm (6-8 ft. lbs.)
3. Check the ignition timing.
