Exhaust Pressure Regulator Vacuum Valve: Testing and Inspection
EGR VACUUM REGULATOR SOLENOID INSPECTION
1. Disconnect the vacuum hoses from the solenoid.
2. Connect the vacuum pump to the port A.
3. Plug the port B.
4. Apply the vacuum and make sure that the needle of the vacuum pump stays at zero.
5. Apply the battery voltage to the terminal A and ground the terminal B as shown.
CAUTION: Never apply the battery voltage to the terminal B. The diode in solenoid may be damaged.
6. Apply the vacuum and make sure that the needle of the vacuum pump jumps up and returns to zero.
7. If not as specified, replace the solenoid.
