Brake Rotor/Disc: Service and Repair
Replacement
REMOVAL
1. Remove wheel and tire.
2. Remove brake caliper and brake pads.
3. Remove brake rotor.
4. Remove the grease cap from the hub.
5. Remove the cotter pin, retainer, adjusting nut, and flat washer from the spindle, and discard the cotter pin.
6. Remove the outer bearing cone, and the roller assembly.
7. Pull the disc plate off of the spindle.
NOTE: Perform the following step if the original disc plate is to be reinstalled.
