HIGH ENGINE RPMS DURING 2-3 UPSHIFT
OR AFTER 3-2, OR AFTER 4-2 WOT DOWNSHIFTS
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINS
All 1997 B-2300 with automatic transmissions.
DESCRIPTION
Higher than expected engine RPMs may occur on some vehicles during a 2-3 partial upshift or after a 3-2 or 4-2 WOT (wide open throttle) downshift.
The engine races and may reach the engine RPM limiter. This may be caused by the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) calibration. An updated PCM is
available to reduce this concern.
Customers complaining of this concern should have their vehicle repaired according to the following procedure.
