Crankshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the generator.
3. Drain the cooling system.
4. Remove water outlet tube.
5. Disconnect the crankshaft position sensor harness connector.
6. Remove the crankshaft position sensor bolt.
7. Pry the crankshaft position sensor from the engine front cover.
Installation
NOTE

Engine front cover design precisely locates crankshaft position sensor so no adjustment is required.
1. Position the crankshaft position sensor and install the retaining bolt.
Tightening torque:
8 - 12 N.m {0.8 - 1.1 kgf.m, 6 - 8 ft.lbf}
2. Connect the harness connector.
3. Install the water outlet tube with a new O-ring and install the bolts.
Tightening torque:
10.5 N.m {1.1 kgf.m, 8 ft.lbf}
4. Install the generator.
5. Fill the cooling system.
