B2300 SE Regular Cab 2WD L4-2.3L VIN A (1997)
DISASSEMBLY
1. Disassemble in the order shown in the illustration, referring to the following:
Dust Seal (2)
Remove the dust seal using Puller Attachment T58L101-B and Slide Hammer T59L-100-B, or equivalents.
Pressure Seal (3)
Remove the pressure seal using Puller Attachment T58L101-B and Slide Hammer T59L-100-B, or equivalents.
ASSEMBLY
1. Assemble in the reverse order of disassembly, noting the following steps.
NOTE: Apply a generous amount of NLGI No. 2 to the area between the two seals.
Dust Seal, Pressure Seal (2 & 3)
1. Lubricate the new pressure seal and dust seal with NLGI No. 2.
2. Apply NLGI No. 2 to the sector shaft seal bore.
3. Place the dust seal on Sector Seal Replacer T77L3576-A, or equivalent with the raised lip of the seal toward the tool.
4. Place the pressure seal on with the lip away from the tool.
