Front Oil Pump Seal (2)
1. Install new front oil pump seal onto SST 49-UN01-153, or equivalent.
NOTE: Check and make sure that the garter spring has not popped off of the converter hub-to-converter housing seal.
CAUTION: Place the converter housing on a block of wood or equivalent to protect the converter hydraulic passages on the back side.
2. Install a new seal until it bottoms in housing using Special Service Tool (SST).
Pump Gears
4. Install a new drive gear O-ring.
5. Lubricate SST seat O-ring.
6. Install SST into pump drive gear to seat O-ring into groove.
7. Remove SST.
8. Position the two pump gears into the pump housing.
CAUTION: The chamfer on the inside edge of the small gear must be up when in the pump housing gear pocket. The dimple on the larger
gear must be down when in the pump housing gear pocket.
