Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
1. Remove the timing belt cover; refer to TIMING BELT OUTER COVER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
2. Remove the crankshaft pulley; refer to CRANKSHAFT PULLEY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
3. Remove the timing chain/belt; refer to TIMING BELT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.
4. Remove the crankshaft sprocket from the crankshaft and remove the crankshaft key.
5. Install the Special Service Tool (SST) to the seal.
NOTE:

When positioning the SST, make sure jaws are gripping the thin edge of the seal tightly before operating the jack screw portion of the tool.

Use driver handle SST 49 0223 630B with SST.
6. Remove and discard the seal.
1) Discard the seal.
