6. Reinstall the rear brake drums and adjust the rear brakes according to MS3 online or Workshop Manual (section 04-11 REAR BRAKE DRUM
REMOVAL / INSTALLATION).

7. Clean the backside of the backing plate using Brake Parts Cleaner (0000-77-620E-05) or equivalent for proper adhesion of silicone.

8. Apply Silicone (Permatex® Ultra Black® 82180) or equivalent to the backside of the rear drum brake backing plate at the following interface areas
(B).

NOTE:

Avoid getting silicone on the brake bleed screw and brake tube nut.

9. Reinstall the rear wheels and torque lug nuts.

Tightening torque: 135 Nm (100 lb-ft)

10. Verify repair.
