2007 B-SERIES - UNABLE TO SHIFT THE TRANSMISSION OUT OF PARK WITH BRAKE PEDAL ENGAGED

2007 B-Series vehicles produced before August 28, 2006
DESCRIPTION
Some 2007 B-Series vehicles may exhibit difficulty shifting out of park with the brake pedal engaged. Reorientation and reinstallation of the push rod
will allow proper operation of the shift interlock.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following repair procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Record the customer's radio presets.
3.
Disconnect the battery.
4.
Remove the push rod cotter pin cover and the cotter pin.
5.
Remove the stoplamp switch and push rod bushing from the brake booster push rod and the brake pedal assembly.
6.
Remove the brake booster push rod from the brake pedal and rotate it 180 degrees (1/2 turn) from its original orientation, then reinstall it.
7.
Install the push rod bushing.
NOTE:
The push rod bushing should be on the outboard side of the push rod as it came from the factory.
8.
Install the stoplamp switch.
9.
Install the cotter pin and the cover.
10.
Reconnect the battery.
11.
Verify repair.
12.
Enter the customer's radio presets.
