The SRS must be fully operational and free of faults before releasing the vehicle to the customer.

Repair is made by installing a new part only. If the new part does not correct the condition, install the original part and carry out the diagnostic
procedure again.
All safety belt tractors
1. Remove the cover and nut and D-ring from the safety belt height adjuster.
Tightening Torque: 40 N.m (4.1 kgf.m, 30 ft.lbf)
2. Remove the cover and bolt and position aside the safety belt anchor.
Tightening Torque: 40 N.m (4.1 kgf.m, 30 ft.lbf)
Passenger safety belt retractor
3. Depower the supplemental restraint system (SRS). See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING.
NOTE: Note safety belt routing for installation.
4. Remove the rear door trim panel and disconnect the belt tension sensor electrical connector. See DOOR TRIM PANEL- REAR.

Release the wiring harness pin-type retainers.

Route out the safety belt webbing.

5. Remove the rear door trim panel. See DOOR TRIM PANEL - REAR.
6. Remove the bolt and safety belt retractor.
Tightening Torque: 40 N.m (4.1 kgf.m, 30 ft.lbf)
7. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

8. Repower the SRS. See DEPOWERING AND REPOWERING.

9. Check the active restraint system for correct operation.
