Subject
TAIL LAMP CONNECTOR TERMINAL CORROSION
APPLICABLE MODELS
All 1994 B-Series
DESCRIPTION
The tail lamp harness connector and bulb socket terminals may have corrosion. Terminal corrosion may occur if the socket seal (at the harness) allows
water to pass into the terminal area. Service parts are now available to correct this concern.
Customers with this concern should have the service parts installed.
NOTE:
Vehicles built before 12/03/93 have a "blue" seal on the harness connector. The improved harness has a gray seal. Harness connectors with a "blue"
seal that have corrosion should be replaced with an updated pigtail that has a "gray" seal.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify that the concern is caused by corrosion between the harness connector and the bulb socket.
^
If corrosion is present, replace the bulb socket and repair the harness connector using the service parts listed below.
^
If corrosion is not present, refer to the BETM for troubleshooting and repair information.
2.
Verify the repair.
