EGR Electronic Vacuum Regulator Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

Limited Air Flow Without Power Applied

EGR VACUUM REGULATOR SOLENOID INSPECTION

1. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.
2. Blow into the solenoid and verify that little air flows.
3. Disconnect the solenoid connector.

Air Should Flow Freely With Power Applied

4. Apply battery voltage and a ground to the solenoid, as shown.
5. Blow into the solenoid and verify that air flows.
6. If not as specified, replace the solenoid.
