Fuel Pressure Regulator: Description and Operation
PURPOSE
To maintain fuel pressure within a specific operating range and vary that pressure in response to intake manifold vacuum changes caused by
differing engine loads.
OPERATION
The In-Tank Fuel Pump is capable of producing a Maximum Output Pressure of 862 kPa (125 psi). The fuel injection system is designed to
operate between (No Load) 210-310 kPa (30-45 psi) and (Under Load) 240-310 kPa (35-45 psi).
During engine operation the excess fuel pressure is bled off and re-routed back to the Fuel Tank by the Fuel Pressure Regulator.
