NOTE:
This bulletin was originally released in March of 1992 as Cat. P, 008/92. The Applicable Models are updated with this new release. Make a note of
this change in the 1992 Service Bulletin Book.
APPLICABLE MODELS
All 1991 - 94 Navajo and 1994-95 B-Series model vehicles.
DESCRIPTION
When servicing any of the above vehicles technicians may notice that the front brake lines appear wet. This wet appearance of the outer rubber brake
hose cover is commonly referred to as "Sweating".
The condition is normal for neoprene rayon braided hoses.
NOTE:
This condition is not evidence of brake fluid leakage and does not affect vehicle braking performance.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE - NO ACTION IS REQUIRED FOR "SWEATING" LINES. However, if a brake fluid leak is suspected perform the
following diagnostics.
1.
Check the master cylinder fluid level. Replenish if necessary.
2.
Wipe the hoses in question with a clean cloth and an all purpose cleaner. Allow to dry.
3.
Start the engine.

Fully depress brake pedal two (2) times

After second application, depress and hold for two (2) minutes
4.
Check pedal position.

If the pedal goes down, check all connections for leaks and repair as necessary.
^
If the pedal goes down and there are no signs of leakage, the master cylinder is leaking internally.
