MIL ILLUMINATION W/DTC P1359 AND NO DRIVEABILITY CONCERNS
APPLICABLE MODELS / VIN
1995-96 B-2300 with Manual Transmission and the calibration codes listed in the Parts Information section of this bulletin. Calibration Codes are listed
on the certification label attached to the driver's side B pillar.
IMPORTANT
This modification is only authorized for the engines and calibration listed. Performing this modification on engines not listed is unauthorized and
could create liability under applicable federal and local laws.
DESCRIPTION
The MIL light may illuminate with no driveability problems and P1359 stored in memory. Normal workshop manual diagnostics may not indicate a
problem.This concern may be caused by the Power Control Module (PCM) calibration. A modified PCM is available to reduce this concern.
Customers complaining of this concern should have the vehicle inspected and if necessary, have the modified PCM installed.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify the concern.
2.
Perform normal diagnostic procedures and repair all other DTC(s) stored in memory. Refer to the workshop manual.
3.
Confirm that the vehicle has one of the calibrations listed and does not have a modified PCM installed.

If the vehicle has one of the calibration codes listed and does not have an Authorized Modification label (P/N 9999-95-AMDC-97) with this
service bulletin number listed attached to the radiator support, proceed to step 4.

If the vehicle does not have one of the calibration codes or an Authorized Modification Label attached to the radiator support, refer to the
workshop manual for additional troubleshooting and repair information.
4.
Install the modified PCM.
5.
List the date, dealer number and service bulletin number on the Authorized Modification Label and attach the label adjacent to the Emission
Control label on the radiator support.
NOTE:
The Authorized Modification Label is needed to inform any future technicians of the PCM change.
6.
Verify the repair.
