DESCRIPTION
Customer may experience an oil pan leak. The old style 4-piece oil pan gasket may creep (move) sideways during installation or use. The oil pan gasket
has been changed to a one piece neoprene gasket with plastic anti-creep tabs, and anti-crush sleeves. Customers having this concern should have their
vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Remove oil pan according to Workshop Manual section 01-11B OIL PAN REMOVAL/INSTALLATION.

Discard the old oil pan bolts (they are too short)
3.
Carefully and thoroughly remove all traces of RTV sealant and adhesive from oil pan and engine block.
4.
Clean the oil pan and engine block gasket mating surfaces.
5.
Apply beads of Silicone Gasket and Sealant or equivalent to front cover and rear bearing cap-to-block parting lines.
