Fluid - Transfer Case: Testing and Inspection
TRANSFER CASE FLUID
Caution If the proper fill procedures are not followed, transfer case failure can result.
Note Fluid level should be just below the fill plug.
1. Remove the filler plug.
2. Verify oil level is near filler plug port. If it is low, add specified oil.
Specified Oil

ATF TYPE M-III or equivalent (e.g. MERCON(R))
3. Install filler plug.
Tightening torque
19 - 30 Nm (1.9 - 3.1 kgf.m, 14 - 22 ft. lbs.)
