2000 TRUCK - IDLE DIP OR STALL ON DECELERATION OR TURNING WITH FUEL TANK OVER 3/4 FULL

DESCRIPTION
Some 2000 trucks may exhibit a stall or idle dip below 450 RPM during deceleration or while turning with a fuel tank greater than 3/4 full. Generally the
stall occurs without a Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) or Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's). This may be due to a restriction at the "Y" connection of
the rear fuel vapor line. Use the procedure below to repair this concern.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Disconnect the Vapor Management Valve (VMV) electrical connector and test the vehicle to see if the condition is corrected.

If there is no change in the condition, reconnect the VMV electrical connector and continue normal diagnosis according to the Workshop
Manual (section 01-01 TROUBLESHOOTING).

If the concern is resolved after disconnecting the VMV, reconnect the VMV electrical connector and continue with STEP 3.
3.
Replace the Fuel Vapor Line:
^
Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle according to the Workshop Manual (section 01 - 14 FUEL SYSTEM).
4.
Disconnect the Fuel Vapor Line from the Charcoal Canister.
5.
Remove the two (2) retaining clips from the Fuel Rail.

Remove the Vapor Line from the front two (2) retaining clips (leave the clips on the frame rail).
^
Remove the Vapor Line at the front disconnect near the fuel filter.
6.
Replace the fuel Vapor Line and reconnect at the front and rear.
7.
Reinstall the fuel tank according to the Workshop Manual (section 01-14 FUEL SYSTEM).
8.
Verify repair.
