DELAYED OR SLIPPING 1-2 SHIFT AT LIGHT THROTTLE
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINs
All 2000 B3000 with automatic transmission built from 8/1/99 to 7/31/00.
DESCRIPTION
Some B3000 built from 8/1/99 to 7/31/00 may exhibit a delay or slipping 1-2 upshift during light throttle. This concern may be due to insufficient
control pressures created by the PCM calibration.
Customers having this concern should have their vehicle repaired using the following procedure.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Locate the Catch Word on the vehicle and refer to the PCM Calibration Chart shown.

If the Catch Word is listed on the chart, proceed to step 3.

If the Catch Word is not listed on the chart, proceed with normal troubleshooting procedures according to the Workshop Manual (section
05-01 TROUBLESHOOTING).
Note:

The Catch Word is located on the Tear Tag which is located on the firewall, adjacent to the PCM.

PCM may have been previously replaced for a spark knock repair. If the Tear Tag Catch Word is different than the PCM Catch Word, use the
PCM Catch Word for reference when performing diagnosis.
3.
Reprogram PCM using the WDS.
4.
Complete an Authorized Modification Label.
a.
Be sure to enter the date, new calibration number, dealer number, and summary of modifications performed.
b.
Clean the area adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label and install the label.
5.
Verify repair.
