If vehicle has a manual transmission and the extension housing bushing IS NOT in the proper location within the bore, replace the
transmission.

5.

Install a new propeller shaft.

Be sure that the propeller shaft and differential companion flange alignment marks are aligned.

6.

Fill transmission to the proper level using Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF).

7.

Locate the PCM Catch Word on the firewall adjacent to the PCM, or on the white tag on the PCM, and obtain correct replacement PCM for
vehicle application (refer to the PCM Reference Chart in PART(S) INFORMATION).

Note

If the PCM Catch Word is not listed in the "CURRENT CATCH WORD" column of the PCM Reference Chart, do not replace the PCM. The
PCM has already been updated, or the vehicle was built with the updated PCM.

8.

Replace PCM (01-40 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION).

Install the Authorized Modification Label on replacement PCM (label packaged with PCM). Enter the date of the replacement, dealer code, and
new catch word found on PCM Label.

For PATS equipped vehicles, refer to Workshop Manual (section 09-40 POWERTRAIN CONTROL MODULE INITIALIZATION. Verify all
of the customer's keys start the vehicle.

9.

Verify the repair.
