Fuel Line Coupler: Service and Repair
Vapor Tube Fittings
WARNING: The evaporative emission system contains fuel vapor and condenses fuel vapor. Although not present in large quantities, it still
presents the danger of explosion or fire. Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery to minimize the possibility of an electrical spark
occurring, possibly causing fire or explosion if the fuel vapor or fuel liquid is present in the area.
Push release
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Disconnect the vapor tube from the fitting.
1. Press the retainer clip in.
2. Disconnect the vapor tube from the fitting.
3. Inspect the fitting and the tube for damage.
4. Remove any dirt or obstructions.
5. Push the tube into the fitting until it snaps in place.
6. Pull on the connection to make sure the fitting is secure.
Pinch Release
1. Disconnect the vapor tube from the fitting.
1. Squeeze the fitting.
