Intermediate Servo
INTERMEDIATE SERVO REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
Removal Note
Note: When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms can occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive
strategy. The customer needs to be notified that they may experience slightly different upshifts either soft or firm and this is a temporary condition and
will eventually return to normal operating condition.
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the control valve body.
4. Remove the shift cable.
1) Disconnect the shift cable from the manual control lever.
2) Remove the shift cable from the bracket.
5. Remove the digital Transmission Range (TR) sensor.
Note: If equipped, the transmittion servo heat shield needs to be unclipped from the fluid pan rail and positioned out of the way for fluid pan
removal.
6. Loosen the nut and position the heat shield out of the way.
7. Remove the intermediate band locknut and unscrew the intermediate band adjusting screw.

Discard the intermediate band locknut after removal.
8. Remove the catalytic converter
Caution: Servo cover is under spring tension. Use caution when removing.
