Note:  Plug the sensor mount opening and thoroughly clean the mounting surface. Apply High Temperature 4x4 Front Axle and Wheel Bearing
Grease E8TZ-19590-A meeting Mazda Specification ESA-M1C198-A.

5. Remove the front wheel speed sensor.

Remove the bolt and the sensor.

6. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Rear

SPEED SENSOR, REAR AXLE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION 

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the rear axle speed sensor connector (1).
3. Remove the bolt (2).

4. Remove the rear axle speed sensor (3).

Note:  Inspect the anti-lock brake sensor O-ring for damage; lightly lubricate O-ring with rear axle lubricant.

Caution:  Before removing the rear axle speed sensor, clean any dirt around the sensor to prevent the dirt from contaminating the rear axle fluid.

5. Install in reverse order of removal.

Tightening torque 34 - 40 Nm (3.5 - 4.1 kgf m, 25 - 30 ft. lbs.)
