13. Position the spark plug wires aside.

Disconnect the spark plug wires.

Disconnect the spark plug wire retainer and position the wires aside.
14. Remove the wiring harness retainer.
15. Disconnect the fuel injector connectors. Position wiring aside.
16. Remove the bolts and the valve cover.
Caution: Do not use metal scrapers, wire brushes, power abrasive discs or other abrasive means to clean sealing surfaces. These tools cause
scratches and gouges which make leak paths.
17. Clean and inspect the sealing surfaces. Install a new gasket if necessary.
