Automatic Transmission Manual Control Lever Shaft Seal Removal / Installation

AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION MANUAL CONTROL LEVER SHAFT SEAL REMOVAL / INSTALLATION

Removal Note 

Note:

When the battery has been disconnected and reconnected, some abnormal drive symptoms can occur while the vehicle relearns its adaptive
strategy. The customer needs to be notified that they may experience slightly different upshifts either soft or firm and this is a temporary condition
and will eventually return to normal operating condition.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.

Note:

It is not necessary to remove the transmission fluid filter to perform this procedure.

3. Remove the oil pan.

4. Remove the digital transmission range (TR) sensor.

Caution:  
^

Do not damage the valve inner lever pin.

5. Remove the manual valve inner lever nut.

6. Remove the manual valve inner lever and the parking lever actuating rod.

Caution:  
^

Do not damage the case fluid pan rail.

7. Remove the manual control lever shaft spring pin.

Tap lightly on each side of the manual control lever shaft spring pin with a drift punch.

Pry the spring pin out of its bore.
