PARKING BRAKE GOES TO FLOOR WITH LITTLE EFFORT WHEN APPLIED
APPLIED MODELS
All 1993-94 Navajo
All 1994 B-Series
DESCRIPTION
While being applied, the parking brake may go to the floor with little effort. This is caused when, after rapid pedal application, the parking brake pawl
may not engage completely with the parking brake ratchet. This results in the parking brake pedal depressing with little resistance.
To correct this problem, install a lock-in wedge between the pawl and the ratchet. This wedge maintains alignment of the pawl with the teeth of the
ratchet.
NOTE:
When the wedge is installed, the parking brake will not self adjust. Adjustment of the parking brake must be made with the wedge removed.
Wedge installation procedures are listed in this bulletin.
