Apply foot pressure to the parking brake from the off position. Depress pedal 2-1/2 - 3 inches. Refer to Fig. 1.

NOTE:

Do not release the brake during the repair procedure by pulling anywhere on the spring loaded release arm.

Check that the pawl is fully seated in the bottom of the parking brake ratchet tooth. Refer to Fig. 2.

After verification, engage parking brake fully. Refer to Fig. 3.
