Tighten the intake manifold bolts/nuts in sequence as shown in Fig. 3.
Tightening Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft-lbs) If using a Pre-1995 level manifold, tighten intake manifold bolts (nuts) in sequence.
Tightening Torque: 21 Nm (15 ft-lbs)

Perform steps 12 - 14 of PROCEDURE "B" - Intake Manifold Gasket Replacement.
Procedure B
PROCEDURE "B" - Intake Manifold Gasket Replacement Procedure
1.
Drain the coolant and remove the intake manifold according to the workshop manual.
2.
Remove all sealing material, coolant residue from sealing surfaces.
NOTE:
Use a soft, non-metallic or aluminum wire brush for removing sealant residue.
Do Not allow old gasket and sealing material to drop into engine.
Do Not use a sand disk or similar power tool to smooth sealing surfaces.

Clean all surfaces with denatured alcohol.
4.
Inspect the manifold for corrosion and pitting at the four (4) water passages. Refer to Fig. 5. If damaged in these areas, replace the manifold with a
new part.
5.
If the cylinder head has two (2) studs in position 3 and 4, (Refer to Fig. 3) replace them with new parts.
If there are no studs in these areas, install two (2) new studs. Refer to Fig. 3.
