Clutch Fluid: Testing and Inspection
AIR BLEEDING
1. Disconnect clutch line from transmission using clutch disconnect tool No. T88T-70522-A, or equivalent, by sliding clutch white plastic sleeve
toward clutch release cylinder while applying a slight tug on clutch line.
2. Clean dirt and grease from around reservoir cap, then remove cap and fill reservoir to step with clean DOT 3 brake fluid.
3. Using a small suitable screwdriver, depress internal mechanism of male coupling to open valve. While continuing to hold valve open, slowly
depress clutch pedal to floor and hold.
4. Remove screwdriver, closing valve and release clutch pedal.
5. Refill reservoir to step.
Note: The reservoir must be kept full at all times to ensure that there will be no additional introduction of air to the system.
6. Repeat steps 3 through 5.
7. Install reservoir cap and reconnect clutch line to clutch release cylinder. Check to ensure connection is secure by applying a slight tug to clutch
tube.
8. Pump clutch pedal rapidly 5-10 times.
9. Wait 1-3 minutes.
10. Repeat steps 8 and 9 three more times.
11. Loosen bleed screw located in clutch release cylinder body next to inlet connection.
12. Depress and hold clutch pedal while tightening bleed screw.
Tightening torque: 3-5 N.m (O.3-.5 kgf.m, 2.2-3.7 ft.lbf}
13. Refill reservoir to the step.
14. Check the operation of the clutch system.
