SOLENOID VALVES
Tester Hook-up Procedure
NOTE: While the transmission tester is connected to the vehicle, diagnostic trouble codes 566 and/or 629 will be stored in the powertrain control
module. Therefore, it is important to erase codes from the powertrain control module after tests and repairs have been made. Perform the
after-repair procedures after disconnecting the transmission tester.
Special Service Tool (SST) Transmission Tester
1. Disconnect the solenoid valve connector.
2. Connect the Special Service Tool (SST) (Transmission Tester) to the solenoid valve connector following the procedure supplied with the
tester.
3. Connect the power cord of the tester to the cigar lighter socket.
4. Set the tester solenoid select switch to the "OHMS/DIODE CHECK" position.
5. Install the proper overlay card on the tester.
Inspection (In-shop)
1. Perform the Tester Hook-up Procedure. (Refer to above.)
2. Set the BENCH/DRIVE switch to the "BENCH" position on the tester.
Performing Ohm Meter Checks Using the Transmission Tester Pin Terminals
3. Measure the resistance between the solenoid terminals on the tester.
