Solenoid Resistance: 26-40 Ohms

4. If not within specification, replace the solenoid.
5. If within specification, go to Short to Ground and Voltage Inspection.

Short to Ground and Voltage Inspection
1. Perform the Tester Hook-up Procedure.
2. Set the BENCH/DRIVE switch to the "BENCH" position on the tester.
3. Activate the solenoid by depressing the solenoid button.
4. If the green LED illuminates and goes off, the solenoid is OK. Perform the Diode Inspection.
5. If the red LED illuminates, the wiring harness has a short to power. Repair the wiring harness.
6. If no LED illuminates, the solenoid circuit has an open or short. Repair the wiring harness.

Diode Inspection
1. Perform the Tester Hook-up Procedure.
2. Set the BENCH/DRIVE switch to the "BENCH" position on the tester.

3. Using a jumper, connect the DIODE terminal to the solenoid signal terminal on the tester.
4. If the green Light Emitting Diode (LED) illuminates, the diode is OK. Perform the Drive Test.

5. If no LED illuminates, replace the solenoid valve wiring harness.

INSPECTION (ON-ROAD)

Torque converter clutch solenoid
1. Perform the Tester Hook-up Procedure.
2. Set the rotate gear select switch to the first gear position.
3. Place the selector lever in the P position.
4. Start the vehicle.
