Thermostat: Service and Repair
THERMOSTAT REMOVAL / INSTALLATION-4.0L
1. Drain the engine coolant.
2. Remove the air cleaner outlet tube.
3. Remove the upper radiator hose extension.
4. Remove the bolts, the water outlet adapter and the thermostat.
(1) Inspect the O-ring seal. Install a new O-ring seal if necessary.
5. To install, reverse the removal procedure
Steps After Procedure
1. Fill radiator with specified amount and type of engine coolant and bleed the cooling system.
