Removal and Installation
DRIVE SHAFT, FRONT AXLE REMOVAL / INSTALLATION
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the wheel and tire assembly.
Caution:

Do not reuse the torque prevailing design hub nut and washer assembly.
3. Remove and discard the hub nut and washer assembly.
Caution:

Do not allow the disc brake caliper to hang suspended from the brake hose. Provide a suitable support.
4. Remove the front disc brake caliper, anchor plate, and pads as an assembly and position the assembly aside.
5. Remove brake disc.
Caution:

Do not use a hammer to separate the outboard CV joint from the wheel hub. Damage to the outboard CV joint stub shaft threads and internal
CV joint components may result.
6. Using the special tool, separate the outboard CV joint from the wheel hub. Remove the special tool.
7. Support the lower suspension arm.
8. Remove the nut and bolt retaining upper ball joint to the front wheel knuckle.
