Fuel Pump Relay: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION
Operational check

Install the fuel pump relay and listen for clicking of the fuel pump relay while cranking the engine.

Voltage inspection

1. Remove the fuel pump relay.
2. Measure the voltage at the terminal (B/Y) of the fuel pump relay.

Specification: Battery positive voltage  

3. If not as specified, check the FUEL PUMP fuse (20A).
4. Turn the ignition switch ON.

5. Measure the voltage at the terminal (R) of the fuel pump relay.

Specification: Battery positive voltage   

6. If not as specified, check the PCM power relay. 

Continuity inspection

1. Apply battery positive voltage (B+) and check continuity between terminals of the relay.

Specification 

2. If not as specified, replace the fuel pump relay.
