Idle Speed: Testing and Inspection

Preparation

1. Warm up the engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Turn all electrical loads off:

Headlamp switch

^

Blower switch

^

Climate control panel switch

Note: If the climate control panel is in DEFROSTER mode, the A/C compressor will be ON. Do not set this mode during ignition timing and 
idle speed adjustment or self-diagnostic start up.

3. Place the transmission into N (Neutral) (MT) or P (Park) (AT).

Idle Speed

1. Perform Preparation. (Refer to above.)
2. Connect the SST to the data link connector.
3. Verify idle speed is within specification, using the SST (NGS).

Specifications:

825 ± 25 RPM [AT]
750 ± 25 RPM [MT]  

NOTE: Idle speed is preset and is not adjustable.
