Blower Motor: Testing and Inspection
Current Draw Test
1. Connect an ammeter between the lower (positive) terminal on the motor and the corresponding terminal of the wire harness connector. Connect a
jumper wire between the upper (ground) terminal on the motor and the corresponding terminal of the wire harness connector.
2. Place the system temperature control lever in the mid-range position (halfway between COOL and WARM) and the function control lever in
PANEL position (air through registers).
3. With the battery fully charged, start the engine and operate the blower in all blower speeds. Record the current draw for each blower speed.
4. The current draw for each blower speed should be within the limits shown in the chart.
5. If not as specified, replace the blower motor.
Voltage Test
1. Place temperature selector lever in mid-range position (halfway between COOL and WARM).
2. Place function control lever in PANEL position (air through registers).
