Wheel Speed Sensor: Testing and Inspection
Rear Axle Speed Sensor Check
1. Jack up the vehicle and support it on safety stands.
2. Remove the rear axle differential cover.
3. Check the clearance between the rear axle speed sensor pole piece and the sensor rotor teeth.

Clearance: 0.127-1.143 mm (0.005-0.045 inch).
4. Rotate the axle 60°-90°.
5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for a total of 5 measurements.
6. If not as specified, replace the rear axle speed sensor or sensor rotor as necessary.
