1. Compress the spring using a jack and lifting the front a casing.
2. Remove the nut.
3. Slowly lower the jack and front axle casing and remove the spring, spacer, seat and stud.

NOTE:  Support the front axle casing at all times during removal and installation. Do not allow the lower arm to hang from the brake hose.

Shock Absorber (5) 

1. Remove the nut and washer.
2. Separate the shock absorber from the radius arm.

Front Axle Casing, Right And Left (8, 9) 

1. Ensure both the left and right front axle casings are securely supported by a transmission jack.
2. Slowly lower the front axle casing.

INSTALLATION  

Install in the reverse order of removal, referring to the following notes:

Front Axle Casing, Right And Left (8, 9)

NOTE:  Do not remove the transmission jack from under the front axle casing assembly at this time.

Radius arm and bracket (6, 7)

Stud and nut tightening torque is 258 - 311 Nm (190 - 229 ft. lbs.). 

^

Front bolts tightening torque is 37 - 50 Nm (27 - 37 ft. lbs.). 

^

Lower bolt tightening torque is 255 - 345 Nm (190 - 255 ft. lbs.).

Spring (4)

1. Install the spring spacer, seat and stud. Raise the jack to compress the front coil spring.
2. Install the nut and tighten to 95 - 135 Nm (70 - 100 ft. lbs.).

NOTE:  Support the front axle casing at all times during installation. Do not allow the lower arm to hang from the brake hose.

Shock Absorber (5)

1. Install the shock absorber onto the radius arm.
2. Install the washer and nut. Tighten to 57 - 97 Nm (42 - 72 ft. lbs.).

Tie-Rod End (1)

1. Insert the tie-rod end into the knuckle.
2. Install the nut and tighten to 68 - 101 Nm (50 - 75 ft. lbs.).
3. Tighten the nut to align the next slot with the hole in the tie-rod end.
4. Install a new cotter pin.
