Transfer Case Output Shaft

1. Raise the vehicle and support it with safety stands.
2. Remove the rear propeller shaft.
3. Remove the locknut, steel washer, rubber seal and rear yoke.

4. Remove the oil seal.
5. Tap the new oil seal into the transfer case by using the Special Service Tools (SSTs).

CAUTION:

Tap in until the installer contacts the case.

Coat the oil seal lip with transmission fluid.

6. Install the rear yoke, rubber seal, steel washer and locknut. Tighten to 250 - 275 Nm (184 - 203 ft. lbs.).
7. Install the rear propeller shaft. Tighten to 83 - 118 Nm (61 - 87 ft. lbs.).
