Output Shaft: Service and Repair
OIL SEAL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Raise the vehicle on a hoist.
2. Remove the propeller shaft.
Note The shaft nut has a self-locking feature and must be replaced during installation.
3. Remove the shaft nut.
4. Remove the output shaft yoke washer and the rear output flange.
5. Remove the spacer.
6. Use Impact Slide Hammer SST 49 0223 630B and Seal Remover SST 303-409 (T92C-6700-CH) or equivalent to remove the rear oil seal.
7. Clean the seal mounting area of any foreign material.
8. Use Oil Seal Installer SST 49 U027 003 and Driver Handle SST 49 F027 003 to install the new yoke to flange seal.
