LACK OF POWER AFTER PCM REPROGRAMMING
APPLICABLE MODEL(S)/VINs
All 2001 B-3000 and B4000 trucks.
DESCRIPTION
Some vehicles may experience a lack of power after the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) has been reprogrammed using WDS. This may be caused by
unintended spark retard.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1.
Verify customer concern.
2.
Reprogram the PCM to the latest level calibration using WDS.
PCM CALIBRATION INFORMATION
Note:
Do not replace PCM for this concern, reprogram PCM only.
3.
Complete an Authorized Modification Label. Be sure to enter the date, new calibration number, dealer number, and summary of modifications
performed. Clean the area adjacent to the Vehicle Emission Control Information Label and install the label.
4.
Verify repair.
