B4000 SE Cab Plus 4WD V6-4.0L OHV (1997)
INSTALLATION
1. Install the timing chain cover.
a. Apply a bead of sealant to the timing chain cover.
b. Install the timing chain cover.
c. Tighten the timing chain cover bolts and studs as shown.
Tightening torque: 17-21 Nm (13-15 ft. lbs.)
Bolt length:
Bolt A: M8 x 47
Bolt B: M8 x 25
Stud C: M8 x 25
2. Install the crankshaft position sensor.
a. Install the crankshaft position sensor.
b. Tighten the bolts.
Tightening torque: 9-12 Nm (6.6-8.8 ft. lbs.)
c. Connect the crankshaft position sensor connector.
3. Install the crankshaft pulley using SST# 49 UN01 002, crankshaft damper replacer.
4. Install the water pump.
5. Install the fan and clutch assembly.
a. Install the fan and clutch assembly.
b. Hold the water pump pulley with the SST. Tighten the clutch assembly with the SST.
Tightening torque: 40-135 Nm (30-100 ft. lbs.)
Note: The clutch assembly has left-hand threads and must be rotated counterclockwise for tightening.
6. Install the oil pan.
7. Install the engine assembly in the vehicle.
